Out of the Cold: Centre County is an organization that is near to my heart! As a board member for over 10 years, I care deeply about unsheltered individuals in our community! Presently, Out of the Cold is serving 28 guests/night and we have nearly 40 people on our waiting list. Homelessness is rising in our community! At Out of the Cold, we believe that shelter is a human right regardless of the decisions that an individual has made in the past. Renovations on our new permanent shelter have been delayed a few times, but they will definitely be taking place this spring and summer! We're convinced that the stability of one location will be life-changing for our guests!
I don't like sleeping outside ... and yet, I know people that have to sleep outside because we don't have space in shelter. Please consider supporting me during Sleep Out Weekend so that Out of the Cold can renovate our permanent shelter and expand services.
